Doctor of Chiropractic, MChiro, PgCert, GCC, UCA, MRCC, NGH.
I have a passion for helping people get the most out of life so started the Thrive Clinic to offer chiropractic in Verwood and help people achieve whole body health after working in Cornwall.
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and always wanted to help people. I initially started work as an emergency technician working towards qualifying as a paramedic, though I found that this appeared not to have a lasting effect for people. An opportunity then arose to work as an axiallary obstetrics theatre nurse and as part of an emergency childbirth response team. It was through this that I was offered a scholarship to study medicine and moved to the United Kingdom in 2002. Unfortunately the exchange rate and cost of living in Cambridge was more than I could afford and so I continued to work.
I worked as a medical researcher for several years and was the head of an international medical research and development team. During this time I had the pleasure of working with many different practitioners and found that Chiropractors had a profound influence on me. Firstly in that they appeared to have an actual effect on people’s lives, not just helping them out of pain but into a better, more fulfilling life and secondly that they all appeared to love what they did.
In 2009 I decided to leave research and train to be a Chiropractor at The Anglo European College of Chiropractic. During this time I also qualified as Certified Hypnotherapist and also completed specialist training in childbirth hypnotherapy. I completed the Masters in Chiropractic in 2014.
I am also a keen sports enthusiast having played cricket, hockey and athletics at national level. In addition I am also a qualified coach in archery, fencing, mountain climbing, cycling and surfing.
For myself chiropractic allowed me to be more than just pain free, it also enlightened me about ‘super tuning’ for sport.
